Job summary

GAF seeks a Project Engineer to develop, execute, and control projects to meet plant goals. You will apply engineering principles to analyze construction of new facilities and enhancements to optimize production capacity and safety.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple engineering assignments, coordinating with contractors and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) required.
• 5+ years experience in manufacturing or roofing/building products.
• Ability to lead as a project manager and supervise as lead engineer.
• Experience managing projects within budget, scope, and downtime constraints.
• Proficient with computer software and G Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute capital projects across the lifecycle with scope, schedule and budget discipline.
• Define, design, and manage project installations including cost estimates and justification.
• Drive continuous improvement through technical analysis and process modifications.
• Serve as primary technical resource for design, coordination, commissioning, and startup.
• Manage internal maintenance and external contractors during execution.
• Provide plant engineering support to Production and Maintenance; troubleshoot complex issues.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards for project execution, equipment and safety.
