Job summary

InfraRec. seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Testing Technician to support testing, inspection, and maintenance of medium- and high- voltage power systems across Texas.

You will work on diverse environments including commercial, industrial, data centers, renewable energy, and utility infrastructure, delivering safe, compliant, and efficient solutions. The role requires extensive experience with power systems, protective relaying, and field service activities, with a strong emphasis on safety

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, field service, or power systems.
• Experience working on medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, one-lines, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform compliance testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medium and high-voltage power systems.
• Test and maintain equipment including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, motors, generators, MCCs, cables, grounding systems, pumps, VFDs.
• Read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Identify equipment faults, diagnose issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Complete test reports, commissioning records, and other technical documentation.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable industry standards.
• Work closely with customers, engineers, project managers, and field teams throughout project delivery.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional workmanship at all times.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Testing Technician that wants to join a rapidly growing, heavily backed organisation that pride themselves on promoting within. You will be based in various environments including commercial & industrial, renewable energy, utility, power generation and critical infrastructure projects throughout Texas.

The Senior Technician will be responsible for the testing, inspection and maintenance of medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical power systems and equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.

This is an opportunity for a highly skilled electrical professional with extensive experience working on complex power systems and critical electrical infrastructure.

Technical Experience :

• Medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Commercial, industrial, data center, renewable energy, utility or mission-critical facilities.
• Electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and field service activities.
• Protective relaying and power system protection schemes.
• Reading and interpreting electrical one-lines, schematics and technical drawings.
• Industry testing standards including NETA, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and OSHA requirements.
• Safe work practices within energized and de-energized electrical environments.
• Test equipment such as Omicron, Megger, Doble, Vanguard, Hioki, or similar platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, field service, or power systems.
• Experience working on medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
• NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV – Desired)
• NICET Certification or equivalent industry-recognized credentials – (Desired)
• Strong knowledge of transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, motors, generators, MCCs, cable systems, and associated power distribution equipment.
• Understanding of NETA, IEEE, NFPA 70E, ANSI, and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-lines, and technical specifications.
• Experience using industry-standard electrical testing equipment.
