Job summary

Olin is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Freeport, TX to lead capital and expense projects from concept to execution, applying FEL and rigorous change-management practices. You will ensure EHS compliance (OSHA PSM, EPA RMP), coordinate multi-discipline teams, and drive reliability and operability improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Civil preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in project engineering in chemical manufacturing or related industry.
• Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects using FEL methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles and tools.
• Project Management Professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define scope, estimates, schedules, procurement needs, and construction plans for site capital and expense projects using FEL methodologies.
• Ensure all project activities comply with EHS requirements, OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and internal practices.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Center of Excellence, and external partners.
• Monitor and report project progress, risks, and performance metrics with risk assessments and mitigation.
• Provide project engineering expertise through reviews, hazard analyses, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.
• Mentor and guide other Projects Engineers and early-career engineers in methodology and stakeholder engagement.
• Support site initiatives including turnarounds and shutdown planning as needed.

What You'll Do

• Manage Site capital and expense projects from concept through execution by defining scope, estimates, schedules, procurement needs, and construction plans while applying FEL and maintaining change-management practices
• Ensure all project activities comply with EHS requirements, OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, industry standards, and internal engineering and regulatory practices
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Center of Excellence, and external partners to ensure safe, effective project implementation
• Monitor and report project progress, risks, and performance metrics while conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies
• Provide project engineering expertise through technical reviews, hazard analyses, troubleshooting, and driving improvements in reliability, operability, and maintainability
• Mentor and guide other Projects Engineers and early-career engineers in project methodology, technical decision-making, and stakeholder engagement
• Support site initiatives including turnarounds, shutdown planning, as Manufacturing Representatives and/or Project Managers across site-level projects

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Chemical, Mechanical or Civil preferred
• 7+ years of experience in project engineering related roles; Chemical manufacturing or related industry experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects using FEL methodologies; Strong knowledge of project management principles and tools
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of ownership across multi-discipline teams
• Strong understanding of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
• Project Management Professional certification preferred
• Must possess a valid US driver's license and be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
