Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Project Director to drive pre-construction delivery for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will set scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder alignment, negotiating EPC contractor and supplier agreements to support large capital builds.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate owner responsibilities, grid interconnection readiness, and operational readiness to ensure on-time, within-budget execution and long-term value for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field with 9+ years of related experience.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and 9+ years, 13+ years of related work experience with High School/GED.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects after initiation, through funding approval and contracting.
• Own pre-construction project performance: scope, cost, schedule, risk, and stakeholder alignment.
• Lead multidisciplinary matrixed project teams and drive effective coordination across the organization.
• Establish project budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and execute contracts with internal partners.
• Provide transparent and accurate project reporting to senior leadership; present risks and opportunities clearly.
