Job summary

Duke Energy seeks an experienced Principal Project Controls Cost Analyst to support large-scale Energy Storage and Solar Construction Projects across the Carolinas and Florida. You will drive cost forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and risk management for multi-million-dollar capital projects.

The role requires expert Excel skills, strong experience in project controls, and the ability to manage complex data across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, PM, or related field.
• Minimum 9 years of Project Controls experience (11+ years accepted in lieu of degree).
• Strong experience in cost forecasting, control, variance analysis, budgeting, and change management.
• Experience in project performance reporting and PMO environments.
• Advanced to expert Excel skills and handling large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review project cost estimates and assumptions.
• Monitor performance and evaluate cost impacts.
• Develop and maintain project cost forecasts and reporting.
• Perform variance, trend analysis, and cost tracking.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and change management activities.
• Quantify and manage project risks.
• Review contractor and vendor performance.
• Maintain cost and risk information in Duke Energy systems.
• Ensure compliance with controls standards and policies.
• Provide project-level and portfolio-level reporting and analysis.
• Mentor and support junior project controls professionals.
