Job summary

Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Director to oversee utility-scale solar and battery storage initiatives. You will drive pre-construction, contracts, and readiness, coordinating a matrixed team across engineering, procurement, and construction.

Reporting to the PMC organization, you will shape scope, schedule, and risk while guiding EPC partners and key stakeholders to on-time, within-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field.
• 9+ years of related work experience; 12+ preferred for senior roles.
• Experience leading complex capital projects and EPC contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects post initiation through funding, contracting, and readiness.
• Own pre-construction performance: scope, cost, schedule, risk, stakeholder alignment.
• Manage EPC contractor relationships, issues, and commercial matters.
• Coordinate owner scope, grid interconnection, and operational readiness activities.
