Job summary

Kitchell in Tucson seeks a Project Director to provide executive leadership during the Preconstruction as well as Construction Phases on assigned projects. You will establish and maintain relationships with clients and the design team, recruit and develop staff, and assist in business development, proposals, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiation.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in CM, Eng, Arch or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of project management experience.
• Knowledge of development, construction, architecture, and real estate.
• Skilled in project management software and equipment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with and train assigned staff to comply with Kitchell procedures, strategic and long term goals.
• Participate in development and implementation of Kitchell's strategic and long term goals.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop Kitchell employees to their fullest potential. Conduct goal setting, performance, and salary reviews on a (minimum) annual basis.
• Monitor budget and operating plan for compliance with staff and expenditures.
• Maintain leadership role in Preconstruction Services on assigned projects.
• Monitor activities and operational issues, and facilitate understanding and resolution of problems.
• Oversee all administrative functions of project operation.
• Develop promotional materials, and attend functions and events to promote company.
• Develop and maintain professional business relationships with clients, public officials, subcontractors, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of business and land development activities and municipal planning throughout region; plan and propose opportunities to management.
• May be responsible for the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Senior Project Superintendent, Project Superintendent and/or Operations Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.
