Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Project Designer to design, engineer and document installed security and life-safety solutions with moderate to higher complexity. You will collaborate with engineers, AHJs and vendors to ensure design integrity and code compliance.

Responsibilities include preparing engineered drawings (AutoCAD), record drawings and submittals, and assisting the project team from design through turnover. 3+ years in engineering/design and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in engineering, field service or design project management.
• 3 years AutoCAD experience.
• Experience in electronics, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, or healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides design or drawing assistance for projects during development and as-built stages.
• Obtains electronic plans from engineers/architects/owners and creates engineered drawings.
• Ensures adherence to Convergint design standards, codes, and AHJ requirements.
• Participates in internal design review meetings and project turnover.
• Prepares submittal packages and coordinates design progress with project managers.
