Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Project Designer to design, engineer and document installed physical security and life safety solutions with moderate to high complexity. You will communicate with AHJ, vendors and colleagues, and contribute to cost-effective project outcomes while growing with the team.

The role emphasizes design accuracy, adherence to standards, and collaboration with project managers, while providing training and guidance to other designers as needed.

Qualifications

• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years engineering, field service or project management.
• AutoCAD experience.
• APS for Stamping Plans.

Responsibilities

• Provides design or drawing assistance for projects during development and as-built stages of engineered drawings.
• Works on projects with varying levels of complexity including moderately complex design projects.
• Obtains electronic plans from engineers/architects/owners and from sprinkler and mechanical contractors.
• Creates engineered drawings (AutoCAD, etc.) and prepares record drawings and O&M manuals.
• Reviews scope, product specifications, applications and electrical requirements for code compliance.
