Job summary

Convergint seeks an experienced project designer to execute and coordinate design engineering tasks for security systems including access control, video, intruder alarms, and intercoms. You will assist with drawings, specifications, and O&M manuals while ensuring AHJ compatibility and project standards.

With a focus on customer service and collaboration, you will support design reviews, turnover meetings, and sales phase operations, applying AutoCAD and Bluebeam skills to deliver qualified

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year technical degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering desirable.
• Minimum three years of previous design, engineering, field service or project management experience in electronic security.
• Minimum three years' experience with AutoCAD required.

Responsibilities

• Provides design or drawing assistance for projects during development and as-built stages, creating engineered drawings.
• Prepares record drawings and O&M manuals per project requirements.
• Reviews scope, product specification, and electrical requirements for code compliance and AHJ needs.
• Participates in internal design review meetings and project turnover meetings with sales and project teams.
• Produces submittal packages and revisions to gain approval.
• Provides operational support for the sales phase of projects as needed.
