Perkins&Will in Houston is seeking a Project Designer with 10+ years of experience to lead the technical development of projects and ensure quality design and construction documentation. You will collaborate with teams, prepare schematic designs, and coordinate with consultants through design development.

The role requires licensure, LEED AP within 1 year, and strong communication skills. You will mentor staff and contribute to client relationships and marketing opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project experience.
• Professional degree in Architecture, Design, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred.
• Ability to direct and coordinate work of junior staff.
• Experience in all phases and aspects of a project.
• Familiarity with building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems.
• Understanding of project management process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
• LEED AP within 1 year of hire; licensure required.

Responsabilités

• Execute all aspects of the design process and project complexities to contribute to team success.
• Prepare schematic designs including presentation drawings, models, and narratives.
• Understand project goals, constraints, budgets, and schedules.
• Evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building technology, materials, and costs to the design process.
• Prepare client presentation packages, external publications, and award submissions.
• Coordinate with partners and consultants through schematic and design development phases.
• Mentor staff and foster collaboration across the team.
