Job summary

American Electric Power in Oklahoma is seeking a Project Cost Analyst to coordinate cost analysis and controls for multiple projects, overseeing budgets and forecasting. You'll input budgets into corporate systems, monitor cash flows, and provide variance analysis under minimal supervision.

As a senior team member, you will develop training, lead process improvements, and create tools for budget and schedule integration, coordinating with contractors and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus four years' qualified experience required.
  • Associate's degree plus six years' qualified experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED and four years' experience as a Project Cost Analyst.
  • Utility operations knowledge and experience with budgeting/forecasting/cost tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project meetings with project team members.
  • Support preparation and updating of project documentation and planning.
  • Prepare forecasts of project spending and cash flows; monitor budget variance.
  • Provide input for SOX activities and annual budgets; perform estimate vs. actuals analysis.
  • Collaborate with PM and stakeholders to perform variance reporting and baseline budgets.
  • Create project breakdown structures and assist with work order processes.
