Job summary

American Electric Power, on-site in New Albany, Ohio or Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeks a Project Cost Analyst to coordinate project cost analysis, budgets, forecasts, and KPI development across multiple projects under supervision.

The role involves inputting budgets in corporate systems, variance analysis, and collaboration with PMs to implement project management best practices throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• No experience required with a qualified associate or bachelor’s degree.
• With a High School Diploma, a minimum of two years' qualified experience.
• Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, and budgets.
• Certification not required at SG5; certification preferred to progress to principal level.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project meetings and work with project team members on project activities.
• Assist with forecasts of project spending and cash flows, budget variance monitoring, cost tracking/analysis.
• Perform estimate vs actuals analysis and variance reporting.
• Create project breakdown structures and manage work order processes from creation to in-servicing and closing.
• Assist in contracting processes and bid analysis as needed.
• Communicate with project teams and stakeholders on budgetary items; develop KPIs.
• Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees.
