Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Arizona seeks a Project Controls Specialist to support engineering and construction cost/schedule analysis. Under moderate supervision, you will prepare reports, analyze trends, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and five years in Construction Management with project controls experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong communication skills in verbal and written form.
Understanding of accounting functions and cost control including forecasting and reporting.
Construction experience with safety awareness.

Responsibilities

Validate progress percentage based on project rules and spot checks of design documents and construction progress.
Develop progress measurement process for required scopes and update regularly.
Review contractor schedules for accuracy and alignment with the master schedule.
Review project documents to determine milestones and validate schedules.
Assist in processing change notices and maintain change logs.
Assist in compiling weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reports.
Identify out of scope changes and document quantity variances from design documents.
Coordinate submittals and reviews with the Project Manager and team.
Assess cost and schedule impacts of design or construction changes.
Evaluate RFIs and differing site conditions for impacts on cost/schedule.
Identify and resolve project control issues with the team.
Analyze status against baseline schedule for complex scopes of work.
Understand construction methodology and propose corrective actions.
Estimate quantities and costs for materials and labor.
Prepare estimates for minor scopes for review.
