Job summary

MasTec in the United States is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Manager for its Power Deliver data center focus. You will lead a team delivering cost controls, forecasting, and revenue recognition across complex projects, partnering with Operations and Finance to drive profitability and performance.

You will oversee WIP, billing, accruals, and change management while ensuring disciplined execution, robust reporting, and alignment with company policies across multiple business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or finance.
• Understanding of data-driven decision making and financial modeling.
• Basic knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes and controls.
• Minimum of 10 years in project controls, project finance, cost control, or construction accounting.
• Strong collaboration and communication with Operations, Project Management, Scheduling, Finance, and Accounting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate information into insights.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with multi-project management capabilities.
• Experience supporting large EPC, utility, transmission, data center, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of forecasting methodologies, change order management, and cost control principles.
• Ability to interpret project schedules and schedule-driven financial impacts.
• Experience with project management, ERP, BI, and project controls systems.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience leading or coordinating project controls personnel preferred.
• Broad knowledge of project control systems including Primavera P6 and Procore.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 4 project controls professionals.
• Oversee project financial controls for the Commercial and Industrial unit including WIP, billing, accruals, and revenue recognition.
• Partner with Operations, Project Management, Scheduling, and Procurement to integrate cost performance and forecast assumptions.
• Perform contract review, project setup, risk assessment, and contingency governance.
• Develop and maintain reliable project forecasts including ETC, EAC, and cash flow impacts.
• Perform variance and trend analysis to explain drivers and propose corrective actions.
• Maintain visibility into the change order pipeline and assess revenue/margin impact.
• Support change order valuation, forecasting, and revenue recognition per policy.
• Evaluate schedule-driven financial impacts with PMs and Scheduling staff.
• Prepare project controls reporting, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
• Ensure adherence to processes, approvals, and financial controls.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, IT, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Contracts, Legal, and Operations.
• Drive continuous improvement in project controls practices and methodologies.
