Job summary

P&E Constructors, LLC is a U.S.-based construction firm delivering large mechanical and electrical projects with ESOP ownership. The Project Controls Manager – Cost will lead budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and client-facing reporting across projects nationwide, partnering with PMs, operations, planning, and finance.

The role emphasizes developing cost-control capabilities, mentoring teams, and ensuring procedures meet sound industry practices. Travel up to 25–50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or technically related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in project cost control with 3-5 years of leading and mentoring teams.
• Command of Cost Forecasting, Cashflow Management, Scope & Change Management and Risk Analysis.
• Must communicate well in spoken, written, and presentation formats.
• Ability to understand business drivers of a $1B direct hire construction business.
• Expert-level command of Cost Control tools and ERPs.
• Ability to integrate cost control with scheduling, EVM, and forecasting systems.

Responsibilities

• Initiate project setup with PM/Finance for WBS/CBS frameworks.
• Develop budgets, Schedule of Values, and cash flow models.
• Define and implement cost control SOPs and risk analysis practices.
• Hire, train, and mentor cost resources and teams.
• Select tools and manage yearly budgets for cost control software.
