Job summary

P&E Constructors is seeking a Cost Control Specialist to manage budgets, forecasts, and billing substantiation for shop and fabrication projects across the United States. The role partners with Project Controls, PM, Estimating, Accounting, and Operations to safeguard margins.

Expect up to 90% travel, per diem, mobilization support, and extended weekend rotations. Competitive base salary with employee ownership under the ESOP program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, or related field preferred
• 3–7 years of experience in project cost control, job cost accounting, or a similar role
• Experience with ERP-based job costing systems such as Viewpoint, Sage, CMiC, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of project cost forecasting including EAC and ETC
• Experience with change order pricing and cost analysis
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large cost data

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project cost budgets from the estimate at award using WBS and cost codes
• Reconcile budgets to contract value and maintain budget logs through changes
• Review timesheets to ensure labor is coded to correct cost codes
• Track POs, commitments, and material costs; maintain cost reports
• Prepare cost reports detailing actual costs, commitments, earned value, ETC and EAC
• Support pricing and financial analysis for changes, rework, or delays
• Collaborate with Project Controls, Project Managers, Estimating, Accounting, and shop personnel
