Job summary

CDM Smith is excited to offer a Senior Project Controls Specialist role to support services projects across the United States. You will develop schedule and cost baselines, collect monthly data, analyze variances, and ensure risk reserves are incorporated into forecasts.

You will produce earned value reports and financial analyses, communicate findings to stakeholders, mentor junior staff, and may supervise engineers. Travel is required up to 20–40% depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with earned value management (EVM) and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validate project costs.
• Generate and analyze earned value reports for projects and discuss observations with project manager.
• Manage planning for moderate to high complexity projects; maintain schedule integrity and resource alignment.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and federal regulations and document cost/schedule baselines.
• Mentor junior staff and potentially supervise engineers on project work.
