Job summary

Summit Line Construction in the western region seeks a Senior Project Controls Specialist to partner with Project Managers and regional teams to drive timely project financial deliverables. You will monitor billing, change orders, forecasting, and ensure data flows to Accounting.

This role requires a finance/contract background, 3-5+ years in project controls, and proficiency in Excel with JDE/EcoSys or similar. You will reinforce standard processes and coordinate across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 3-5+ years of experience in project controls, construction finance, cost management, or project operations support.
• Experience working directly with Project Managers in a construction, infrastructure, engineering, or other project-based environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of project billing, change management, forecasting, and EAC processes.
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables.
• Strong communication skills and ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Project Managers and regional teams to manage the monthly project financial calendar and required deliverables.
• Maintain a consolidated view of outstanding project financial action items and drive items through completion.
• Prepare project teams for monthly financial reviews by confirming required operational inputs have been completed.
• Monitor client billing activity and ensure Project Managers prepare and submit billings to clients within established deadlines.
• Track billing status across assigned projects and follow up on outstanding or delayed submissions.
• Maintain the Change Budget Adjustment (CBA) log and ensure all approved change orders are captured timely.
• Track pending change orders and follow up with project teams regarding approvals and required supporting information.
• Coordinate monthly forecasting activities with Project Managers and ensure required forecast updates are completed by established deadlines.
• Provide guidance and hands-on assistance to Project Managers and project teams with billing, change management, forecasting, and established financial processes.
• Reinforce standardized financial processes and reporting expectations across assigned regions.
• Identify missed deadlines, recurring process breakdowns, and unresolved project items and elevate as appropriate.
• Serve as the primary coordination point between project teams and Accounting for required project financial deliverables.
