Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Project Controls team in Culpepper, VA. This full-time, in-person position supports cost projections, billing, change management, and KPI tracking across a regional project portfolio.

You will collaborate with MEP subcontractors, manage cash flow, and ensure timely owner billing while maintaining compliance with prime contracts. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Up to 5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, codes, regulations, and standards.
• Outstanding communication, time management, and computer skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on project cost projections and forecasting with MEP subcontractors.
• Support internal and external cash flow management for the project.
• Ensure timely owner billing and establish review processes.
• Oversee submission of changes and compliance with prime contracts.
• Establish and manage processes for internal and external change reviews.
• Monitor reporting and metrics for change management backlog, focusing on quantity, magnitude, and aging.
• Assist with document control for drawings and specifications.
• Generate deliverables that meet prime contract reporting requirements.
• Support workflows for RFIs, Submittals, Material Status, Design Management, Risk Management, Quality, and Closeout.
• Monitor and adapt processes for project KPIs.
