Job summary

TD Thornton is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Analyst to support cost, schedule, and project performance management across a portfolio of major construction projects in the electric utilities sector. The role blends hands-on Primavera P6 scheduling with forecasting, cost analysis, and governance.

The ideal candidate has strong project controls experience and can provide leadership with clear visibility into cost and schedule performance for project managers and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• 7+ years of project controls, scheduling, or cost controls experience.
• 3+ years using Primavera P6 including baselines and cost loading.
• Experience in forecasting, accruals, budgets and cost variance analysis.
• Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and communicate insights.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Create WBS, dependencies, resource allocations, cost loading, and baselines.
• Prepare financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and cost analyses.
• Support budgets, forecasts, business cases and contingency management.
• Track cost and schedule performance, variances and trends.
• Manage accruals, financial tracking, and cost validation.
• Develop dashboards and reports for leadership on project performance.
• Support contract administration and change-order processes.
• Identify risks and potential cost/schedule impacts.
• Prepare updates and presentations for senior management.
• Facilitate controls meetings and track actions.
