Job summary

TD Thornton is seeking a Senior Project Controls Analyst in Oakland, CA, to oversee cost, schedule, and performance across major electric utilities projects. The role blends Primavera P6 scheduling with forecasting, risk management, and governance to deliver clear leadership updates.

With 7+ years in project controls and strong data-driven communication, you will partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to identify trends, maintain forecasts, and ensure accurate cost/schedule

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of project controls, scheduling, or cost controls.
• 3+ years hands-on Primavera P6 with dependencies, baselines, cost loading.
• Experience with project financial analysis including forecasting and budgets.
• Ability to analyze cost/schedule data and identify risks and trends.
• Strong communication to translate data into updates for leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Develop and maintain work breakdown structures, dependencies, resource allocations, cost loading, and schedule baselines.
• Prepare project financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and cost analysis.
• Support project managers with budgets, forecasts, and contingency management.
• Track and analyze cost and schedule performance, including variances and trends.
• Manage project accruals, financial tracking, and cost validation activities.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations for leadership.
• Support contract administration and change-order processes.
• Identify project risks and assess cost/schedule impacts.
• Prepare concise project updates and presentations for senior management.
