Job summary

Manhattan Construction is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Manager to oversee project controls practices regionally and to ensure adoption of operational guidelines.

The role requires strong leadership, time management, and customer-service orientation across multiple projects. You will train Operations Managers, monitor KPIs, and lead project performance reviews while enforcing standards for value and change management, procurement, and prequalification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CM/engineering/business or equivalent.
  • 15 years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and training to enable project teams to operate per company standards.
  • Monitor KPI and project controls processes across systems.
  • Lead project controls on mid-size or larger projects.
  • Assist in Job Cost Budget / GMP strategy related to systems and financials.
  • Enforce standards for value management, change management, purchasing, subcontractor prequalification and bid/awards.
  • Review and rollout new PM software and processes.

Job description

Position Summary

The Sr. Project Controls Manager is responsible for the general administration of all Manhattan project controls practices and policies within the region. In this role, the manager is responsible for the management of the operating platform for Manhattan and ensuring all regional projects embrace and adopt new and existing operational guidelines into everyday performance. This position requires business management acumen and strong leadership, organizational, and time‑management skills, as well as strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and training to enable project teams to operate in accordance with company standards
  • Assists in training Operations Managers for implementation of Manhattan standards and policies
  • Monitors software standards and training for the company
  • Monitors and takes action on Key Performance Indicators in various systems
  • Assists in the development of project execution plans within the region
  • Champions at least one PM system company‑wide, creating and updating national training materials and ensuring consistency across regions
  • Leads project controls efforts on mid‑size projects or larger
  • Assists Project Directors with Job Cost Budget / GMP Strategy with regard to systems and financials
  • Leads Project Performance Review process within the region
  • Enforces standards for value management, change management, purchasing, subcontractor prequalification, and award and notifications
  • Analyzes, identifies, and resolves issues with various PM systems
  • Assists in the review and potential rollout of new software
  • Conducts themselves in accordance with Guiding Principles and exhibits attributes matching the Way We Work
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts
  • Ability to stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day
  • Ability to repeat the same movements
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls
  • Uses hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally lifts, pulls, or moves up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel, primarily within the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid driver’s license)
