Job summary

AIA Houston is seeking a licensed architect to lead architectural projects from schematic design through construction documents, coordinating internal staff and consultants. You will produce well-coordinated project documentation and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.

You will conduct client meetings, presentations, and design reviews while mentoring junior team members and monitoring timelines.

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect in good standing.
• 5+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project leadership.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from schematic design through construction documents, coordinating internal staff and consultants.
• Produce well-coordinated, high-quality project documentation ready for permitting and construction.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and client requirements.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations, and design reviews.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in design, documentation, and workflow best practices.
• Monitor project timelines, proactively identify risks, and implement design or documentation solutions.
• Collaborate effectively across project teams to ensure consistency and quality.
