Job summary

Thompson & Litton seeks a licensed Senior Project Architect to lead projects from concept to construction in Radford, Virginia. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop designs, coordinate with civil, structural, and MEP professionals, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires a professional Architecture degree, 8+ years' experience, and Virginia licensure or reciprocity. You will communicate with clients and produce documentation using Revit and related tools.

Qualifications

• A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch. or M.Arch.).
• At least 8 years of architectural experience, including involvement in design through construction.
• Active Virginia architectural license or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, materials, building systems, and applicable codes.
• Experience with Revit and other architectural design tools.
• Ability to lead project teams and mentor developing professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through construction, balancing design vision with technical execution and client needs.
• Guide projects through all design and construction phases with schedules, deliverables, and coordination.
• Develop creative design solutions responding to client goals and community context.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and MEP teams for coordinated designs.
• Serve as point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor junior staff and interns, sharing expertise and developing talent.
• Communicate ideas and produce quality project documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, Twinmotion, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Apply building codes, zoning, construction methods, and systems knowledge to create practical designs.
