Job summary

SCB in Boston seeks talented Project Architects focused on interior design to join our team. You will work on all aspects of project design and development under the supervision of a Design Director and/or Principal, collaborating with consultants to prepare studies, palettes, drawings, and specifications.

You will leverage your 10+ years of experience in design offices, strong detailing, and knowledge of FF&E, color/material selection, and construction documents.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in interior design or architecture.
• 10+ years post-graduate, full-time experience in a design or architectural firm.
• NCIDQ Certificate Holder, Registered Interior Designer or Licensed Architect preferred.
• Strong design sensibility, attention to detail, and knowledge of emerging trends.
• Thorough understanding of programming, space planning, color/material selections, FF&E, design development, and construction documents.
• Capable of performing all construction phase activities including RFIs and site visits.
• Working knowledge of local building codes and accessibility requirements.
• Ability to lead a project including consultants and internal staff.
• Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and graphics software; familiarity with Enscape, SketchUp, and Rhino.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in Multi-family residential, Hospitality, Commercial Office, Lab or Aviation projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement project design philosophy and drive execution through design and construction phases.
• Develop design and technical drawings, visualizations, and studies with project leaders.
• Ensure design intent is reflected in drawings and specifications.
• Lead FF&E selection, specification, and procurement from concept to execution.
• Organize and facilitate communications among in-house team, consultants, and client.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including design consultants, contractors, clients and authorities.
• Lead team meetings and client presentations with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor and train junior staff in a constructive manner.
• Engage with the project team with a positive, team-first attitude.
