Job summary

WSP is seeking an Experienced Professional, Project Accounting in the United States. The role provides accounting support to project managers and teams, including budgets, margin analysis, and funding in Oracle for large projects.

The candidate will collaborate with Billing and Project Managers on pre-billing reviews, cost estimates, and invoicing, ensuring accurate project data and robust reporting while upholding quality and financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant post-education experience in accounting, project contracts and change management documents.
• Working knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and methods.
• Ability to initiate and coordinate efforts with various stakeholders around contract and project requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, pivot tables, formulas, data format/sort/filter, VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocating of project costs and revenue; report financial performance to management.
• Maintain lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in Oracle to close-out and reconciliations.
• Assist in billing reviews, cost estimates, and invoicing in collaboration with Billing and Project Managers.
• Establish project budgets and provide recommendations when contracts or budgets change.
• Generate and review project financial reports; escalate items as needed to management.
