Vaco Recruiter Services in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Project Accountant/Senior Accountant to own key accounting functions and partner with finance leadership on reporting, close, tax compliance, and process enhancements.

You will contribute across multiple accounting areas in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with exposure to leadership and opportunities for impact on financial processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and month-end close expertise.
• Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax compliance and multi-state filing requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement prep.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports in partnership with finance leadership.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy through analysis of accounts and recurring transactions.
• Manage sales and use tax filings and compliance across multiple states.
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and related accounts.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist with year-end close, audit prep, and state tax audit support.
• Generate daily banking activity and prepare deposits/positive pay files.
