Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Senior Accountant in Indianapolis for a hands-on finance role that partners with multiple departments to ensure accurate month-end close, reconciliations, and robust reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance with 2–5 years of accounting experience; public accounting is a plus. Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, strong attention to detail, and clear communication within a collaborative team are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with financial statements and management reporting.
• Analyze and explain variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Support external audits and help maintain strong internal controls.
• Partner with other departments to resolve accounting issues and support business goals.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
