Job summary

Hord Coplan Macht, Inc. in Conshohocken, PA, is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial health of multiple design projects. You will set up projects, manage budgets and billings, and prepare monthly AR reports in a collaborative, in-office environment.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of project accounting within architecture or engineering, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with project accounting software. This role requires clear communication and ownership of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Eight years of project accounting experience, preferably in an architecture or engineering firm.
• Strong spreadsheet and project accounting software skills; Deltek Vantagepoint a plus.
• Understanding of standard contract terms and how they apply in billing.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance, prioritize, and multitask.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to interact with all levels, clients, and subconsultants.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects, related fees, and budgets in accounting software.
• Update fees and budgets for additional services.
• Adjust fees, budgets, and revenue upon Owner-approved bids and alternates.
• Prepare draft/final invoices with supporting documentation for billable projects.
• Provide monthly Accounts Receivable reports to Studio Leaders and PICs; follow-up on skipped payments.
• Perform actual-to-budget variance analysis for projects and support managers.
