Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Accountant III to join our Project Accounting team. This role can be based in our San Diego, CA office or fully remote for candidates in the Pacific time zone.

You will oversee accounting for large construction projects, drive close processes, and provide expert guidance to project managers and cross-functional teams. You will mentor staff, support complex audit requests, and lead process improvements across project accounting, ensuring accuracy and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• 2+ years of Big Four or Top 10 audit firm experience or equivalent.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Construction, EPC, engineering, energy, or project accounting experience preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or CCIFP preferred.
• Pacific or Central time zone preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and financial oversight for assigned construction projects, including revenue, costs, and WIP.
• Serve as primary accounting resource for Project Managers on complex accounting matters.
• Review project financial data, contracts, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform complex month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Collaborate with AR/AP/Procurement and project teams to resolve billing and subcontractor issues.
• Support audit requests and respond to complex auditor inquiries.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, automation, and control enhancements.
