Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Marshall, VA to join a growing, design-driven construction and installation company. You will partner with Project Managers to track job costs, profitability, forecasts, and overall financial performance.

The role emphasizes project-based accounting beyond routine transactions, with involvement in close processes, reporting, and scalable accounting practices as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in project-driven environments.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting and the full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet schedules.
• Prepare and analyze WIP schedules and job cost reports.
• Analyze project profitability, margins, cost-to-complete, and billings variance.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on forecasts and financial reporting.
• Support project revenue recognition and billing activity.
• Review job costs, change orders, commitments, and related financials.
• Assist with AP, AR, and collections as needed.
• Prepare management reports and financial analysis.
