Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to oversee financial management for large-scale construction projects. The role coordinates all phases of project accounting including job costing, billing, budgeting, reporting, and risk management.

You will partner with Project Managers and operations to ensure accurate financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include preparing billings, monitoring budgets, processing invoices, and delivering monthly reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of Project Accounting experience preferred.
• Construction/engineering/project-based industry experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge with project accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly project billings in accordance with contract requirements.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments, and costs to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Process subcontractor and vendor invoices and assist with owner billings.
• Partner with Project Managers to monitor overall project financial performance.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and cost analyses, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as needed.
• Support, mentor, and provide guidance to junior Project Accounting team members.
