Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 6+ years in development/homebuilding/construction/project accounting.
• Strong GL, month-end close, and cost accounting knowledge.
• Experience with job costing, capitalization, and HUD docs.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Maintain project books and detailed accounting workpapers.
• Record/consolidate construction and development transactions.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
• Track project costs, capitalization, inventory allocations, and COGS.
• Prepare and review construction loan draw packages and HUD docs.
• Assist with year-end reporting and tax workpapers.
• Review contracts for proper accounting treatment.

Senior Project Accountant

Salary: Up to $125,000 + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain project books and detailed accounting workpapers
• Record and analyze construction and development-related transactions
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and support month-end close
• Track project costs, capitalization, inventory allocations, and cost of sales
• Prepare and submit construction loan draw packages
• Review lot settlements and HUD documentation
• Manage bank reconciliations and cash activity
• Assist with year-end reporting and tax workpapers
• Review contracts and ensure appropriate accounting treatment
• Support financial reporting and project analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 6+ years of accounting experience with a focus on development, homebuilding, construction, or project accounting
• Strong general ledger accounting and month-end close experience
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
• Understanding of capitalization, cost allocations, and construction/development accounting concepts
• Experience preparing detailed workpapers and supporting documentation
• Ability to review contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with accounting systems and ERP platforms

Preferred Experience

• Real estate development accounting
• Homebuilding accounting
• Construction project accounting
• Lot purchase agreements, lot settlements, and HUD documentation
• Sage Intacct and/or Sage 300 CRE
• Bill.com, Ramp, Concur, or similar platforms
• Public accounting experience with relevant industry exposure
