Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Senior Accountant / Project Accountant for its Austin team in the Fire & Life Safety/Commercial Services sector. This hands-on role offers exposure to growing PE-backed operations and active acquisitions, with opportunities to build out accounting infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will own key close processes, perform job costing, support AR/AP, and help transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite, while improving processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and month-end close experience.
• Construction/project accounting experience — required.
• WIP, percentage-of-completion, job costing, and AIA billing experience — required.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own key aspects of the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting.
• Handle percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and AIA billing.
• Analyze project margins and investigate variances.
• Support AR/AP, billing, and collections.
• Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations.
• Assist with audits and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes.
• Support the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite.
• Assist with acquisition integration and accounting process improvements.

A growing, private-equity-backed fire and life safety company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Project Accountant to join its Austin accounting team. This is a hands‑on opportunity to join a growing organization that is actively acquiring and integrating businesses and building out its accounting infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a doer who enjoys working independently, digging into the numbers, and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Own key aspects of the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting
• Handle percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and AIA billing
