Job summary

Best Buddies International in Florida seeks a Deputy Director, Jobs and Transitions to oversee the jobs and transitions programs across the state. You will hire and manage staff, supervise contractual obligations with contractors, and coordinate reporting timelines and performance metrics.

The role requires strong project management, relationship building with employers and families, frequent travel, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to achieve program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or minimum 4 years relevant experience.
• Strong project/time management skills, planning, analysis, attention to detail, and problem solving.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and basic understanding of accounting principals.
• Initiative, dependability, drive for results, and self-assessment skills.
• Adaptable and able to balance multiple relationships and get results.
• Ability to gain information through questioning, observation, and reporting.
• Comfortable engaging with people with IDD and working in a supporting role.
• Willingness to travel throughout the state; long hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with parents, communities, schools, government and other agencies to educate them about Best Buddies Jobs and Transitions.
• Performs job development for unemployed participants and builds employer relationships.
• Oversees regional job development goals and overall development strategy.
• Manages a caseload of Jobs participants and conducts intakes and progress reviews.
• Ensures health and safety on the job site and maintains records as required.
• Maintains relationships with families, support coordinators, and referral sources.
• Coordinates program curriculum and transitions program delivery.
• Collaborates with national leadership on new programmatic initiatives and field feedback.
• Proactively recruits youth participants and connects transitions students to jobs.
