Job summary

Sharetec is seeking a Senior Programmer to join our Customer Experience team. You’ll own complex legacy systems, diagnose issues in the Progress ABL codebase, and help keep our credit-union software reliable across the country.

You’ll tackle hard problems, collaborate with teammates, and participate in on-call rotations. This is a full-time exempt role, with remote work possible nationwide (California excluded) or hybrid options from Fort Wayne, IN or Waco, TX.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with legacy code bases and non-traditional program structures.
• Experience in Progress ABL, SQL, or similar language.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and continuous-learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in Sharetec's Progress ABL codebase and non-traditional program structures.
• Break large, complex problems into manageable components to identify root cause.
• Work cases through to full resolution, escalating to other departments when appropriate.
• Bring systems back up independently when they go down, knowing when and how to raise.
• Close an average of 10–12+ cases per week and resolve them within defined SLAs.
• Participate in the routine on-call rotation and maintain fluency in Progress ABL.
