Job summary

Sharetec is seeking a Senior Programmer to join our Customer Experience team. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in a legacy Progress ABL codebase and the surrounding infrastructure, ensuring our banking software remains reliable for credit unions nationwide.

This full-time role supports remote work from anywhere in the United States (except California) or a hybrid setup from our Fort Wayne, IN or Waco, TX offices, with minimal travel and participation in an after-hours

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Progress ABL, SQL, or a similar language.
• Ability to work with legacy code bases and non-traditional program structures.
• Ability to communicate effectively within the team and across the larger organization.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environments.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and continuous-learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within Sharetec's legacy Progress ABL codebase and infrastructure.
• Break large problems into manageable components to identify root cause.
• Work cases through to full resolution, escalating to other departments when appropriate.
• Bring systems back up independently when they go down, knowing when and how to escalate.
• Close an average of 10–12+ cases per week and resolve them within defined SLAs.
• Communicate clearly with the team on case status and technical issues.
• Participate in the routine on-call rotation.
• Maintain fluency in Progress ABL, Progress databases, and related infrastructure.
