Job summary

Sharetec Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Programmer to join our Customer Experience team in the United States.

You will own complex technical problems within a highly customized Progress ABL codebase and its infrastructure, diagnosing and resolving issues while supporting teammates and handling on-call rotations. The role offers hybrid work options from Fort Wayne, IN, or Waco, TX, or remote work from the continental United States (excluding California).

Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience or certification
Experience with Progress ABL, SQL, or similar language
Ability to work with legacy code bases and non-traditional program structures
Ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environments
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues by breaking down large problems
Ability to communicate effectively within the team and across the organization
Self-driven, adaptable, continuous-learning mindset

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within Sharetec's legacy Progress ABL codebase and related infrastructure
Break large, complex problems down into manageable components to identify root causes
Work cases through to full resolution, escalating to other departments when appropriate
Bring systems back up independently when they go down and manage on-call rotations
Close an average of 10-12+ cases per week and maintain defined SLAs
Maintain and grow fluency in Progress ABL, Progress databases, and related infrastructure
