Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Program Planning and Scheduling Manager 3 in an on‑site role across San Diego, El Segundo, or Palmdale. Lead a team focused on EVMS, cost analysis, and program scheduling to ensure compliant, on‑time performance.

The role requires a strong background in government defense cost/schedule management, mature leadership, and the ability to travel up to 10% domestically. Primary salary range appraised as competitive for the level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9 years in government defense cost or schedule management OR 7 years with a Master’s in government defense cost or schedule management
• Hands‑on experience in Program Planning / Scheduling or Cost using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
• Experience in Earned Value with government reporting
• Prior leadership experience
• Willingness to travel domestically 10% of the time
• Must have an active US Government clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Program Planning & Scheduling Analysts
• Provide day‑to‑day hands‑on support, guidance, troubleshooting, and satisfying Programmatic requirements
• Perform quarterly and year‑end performance reviews
• Project management including managing multiple priorities against ambitious timelines
• Support/coordinate internal and external surveillance audits
• Ensure full compliance with EVMS; implement Northrop Grumman EVMS
• Provide project planning support to proposal bids and bid reviews
• Advise on integration of project schedules with Earned Value Management
• Support customer IBR and DCMA JSR audits
• Travel 10% as required
