Job summary

Alaska Railroad is seeking a seasoned Project Director to oversee capital projects and large multi-year programs across ARRC waterfront facilities. You will coordinate teams, manage budgets, ensure safety, and handle contract oversight for projects funded by federal/state grants and internal capital funds.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, 10 years of project management experience, and a valid driver’s license; TWIC credential is also required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related discipline.
  • Ten years of project/construction management experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • TWIC card (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee capital projects and large multi-year programs funded by grants or internal funds.
  • Provide oversight, direction, and coordination of work on high-profile projects.
  • Review and approve invoices and contract changes; ensure proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with departments and external stakeholders to meet project goals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering
Associate’s degree + 5 years project/construction management experience
