Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Program Manager in Chicago to lead end-to-end program management for a portfolio of fulfillment center projects, translating PORs into execution plans and driving cross-functional delivery. You will ensure on-time milestones, manage risk, and report progress to senior leadership while coordinating with capacity planning, engineering, procurement, and field teams.

You will mentor junior PMs, drive process improvements, and contribute to scalable delivery practices

Qualifications

• 6+ years of program or project management experience.
• 6+ years of leading large complex programs experience.
• 6+ years of developing program strategies and plans, diving execution, and influencing senior stakeholders experience.
• 6+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience.
• Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end program management for a portfolio of fulfillment center projects from Plan of Record (POR) approval through design, construction, automation deployment, and launch.
• Drive cross-functional coordination and stakeholder alignment across 6+ partner organizations by facilitating weekly alignment meetings, managing planning-to-execution hand-offs, and reporting to senior leadership.
• Manage schedule integrity across the portfolio by reviewing Material Handling and Storage proposals for acceptable milestone schedules, tracking and following up on milestone-level delays, and coordinating with construction and automation vendors on First Access details.
• Proactively identify, expedite when necessary, and mitigate risks that impact project schedules, managing critical path dependencies and escalating to senior leadership with recommended mitigation paths.
• Report on program status to Senior Leadership, planning, and execution teams by maintaining the network Engineering Project Tracker and providing inputs on resource tracking, whitepaper development, and program data.
• Improve program management processes, tools, and mechanisms by driving efficiencies, creating predictable delivery paths, and developing scalable approaches that enable consistent, repeatable delivery.
• Mentor and develop program managers on the team; contribute to hiring, interviews, and promotion assessments
