Job summary

Harvard University Central Administration invites applications for Senior Program Manager within the Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery Initiative. This role provides strategic direction for a multi-school portfolio, ensuring programs are launched, delivered, and improved to advance the initiative’s mission.

Reporting to the Director of Administration, you will lead a program team, manage stakeholder relationships, oversee budgets, and collaborate across Schools/Units to deliver high-impact

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant program management experience.
• PMP or similar certification may count toward experience.
• Experience managing complex programs in higher education or nonprofit settings.
• Strong relationship management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience designing surveys and analyzing data for program evaluation.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and survey tools; professional discretion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle of program portfolio, including chartering and roadmapping.
• Coordinate cross‑school initiatives, ensuring funding compliance and impact.
• Develop and monitor budgets; support annual planning and reporting.
• Lead program team meetings; mentor Program Manager and Coordinator.
• Prepare high‑level reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with Communications to promote program successes.
• Negotiate vendor/contractor relationships for program needs.
• Design surveys, collect data, and drive bias mitigation for evaluation.
