Job summary

Harvard University and the Legacy of Slavery Initiative (HLS) seek a Senior Program Manager to oversee its programmatic portfolio across Schools/units. The role reports to the Director of Administration and drives planning, execution, and evaluation of initiatives from charters to roadmaps and metrics.

The position is a three-year, benefits-eligible term requiring a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years in program management, with strong leadership, analytics, and communication skills to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of program management experience.
• PMP or similar certification may count toward years of experience.
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or research settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle of the programmatic portfolio and charters.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across Harvard Schools/Units.
• Develop reports and presentations on progress and impact.
• Lead program team, meetings, and budget planning.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and procure services.
