Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Engineering, Scientific Computing, or related field.
• 12–15+ years of experience leading complex technical or scientific computing programs.
• Experience with FDA or federal scientific/public health organizations.
• Ability to translate mission requirements into technical strategies and drive execution across interdisciplinary teams.
• Must have experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) and cloud/data management.
• Excellent client-facing communication with scientific/executive audiences.
• Strong program performance, risk, reporting, schedules, and contract deliverables management.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall program strategy and execution for a complex scientific computing environment supporting hundreds of FDA scientists, researchers, and laboratory teams.
• Translate FDA scientific and regulatory mission needs into computing capabilities and modernization plans.
• Serve as senior client-facing leader with FDA leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Develop program plans, governance, risk management, and reporting structures aligned to FDA expectations.
• Oversee multiple workstreams including HPC operations, storage, cloud services, cybersecurity, bioinformatics support, and scientific workstations.
• Ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of services for genomics, AI/ML, modeling, and large-scale data analysis.
