Job summary

You will resolve claims effectively, manage complex exposures, and travel for mediations or trials as needed, while upholding RLI’s Best Practices and ESOP-driven total rewards culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of related experience (legal or insurance).
• Equivalent level of education and experience.
• Meaningful experience handling professional liability claims with significant exposure.
• Analytical methods to handle complex claims and devise resolution strategies.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, including potential testimony in court.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle professional liability claims to achieve fair, expeditious and economical payouts.
• Assess and analyze coverage issues and issue appropriate letters and documentation.
• Complete timely investigation and post appropriate reserves.
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
• Travel to mediations, settlements, and trials as warranted.
