Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production support role.
  • Deep expertise in C# and .NET; ability to debug production code and logs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex production incidents.
  • Escalation point for production support engineers; coordinate cross-team collaboration during outages.
  • Analyze system performance; identify areas to improve reliability, scalability, and observability.
  • Develop and implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities.
  • Build automation tools to streamline incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Own post-incident reviews; document and address systemic issues with Dev teams.
  • Mentor and guide other production support and engineering staff.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and product managers to improve deployment and support processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and enhance incident response readiness.

Description

We are looking for a Senior Production Support Engineer who will take a leadership role in maintaining the health and stability of our cloud-based enterprise application built with .NET (C#, SQL Server, T-SQL, Angular) and hosted in Azure and on-prem. You will act as a technical lead in identifying, resolving, and preventing production issues, and play a key role in shaping our support operations through automation, monitoring, and process improvement.

This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, operational discipline, and cross-functional communication. You’ll also mentor junior team members and contribute to engineering excellence and a strong DevOps culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex and high-impact production incidents.

  • Serve as the escalation point for production support engineers and coordinate cross-team collaboration during outages.

  • Analyze system performance and identify areas of improvement in application reliability, scalability, and observability.

  • Drive the development and implementation of monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities for our systems.

  • Build automation tools to streamline incident response, environment validation, and root cause analysis.

  • Own post-incident reviews (PIRs), ensure timely documentation, and work with dev teams to address systemic issues.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other production support and engineering team members.

  • Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and product managers to improve deployment and support processes.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and improve incident response readiness and tooling.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in a production support

  • Deep expertise in C# and .NET technologies; able to debug production code and logs effectively.

  • Strong database experience including complex T-SQL queries, performance tuning, and SQL Server internals.

  • Advanced experience with Azure services, particularly around app hosting, monitoring, logging, and databases.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead incident response efforts and work under pressure.

  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate tasks and build operational tools.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to drive conversations with engineering and business stakeholders.

  • Experience with Azure Application Insights, Log Analytics, or other observability platforms.

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.

  • Knowledge of ITIL or SRE principles, and experience establishing support SLAs and metrics.

  • Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
