Job summary

TransTech in McGregor, TX, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations on the shop floor. You will manage welding teams, coordinate with engineering and HR, and drive safety, quality, and productivity across 12-hour shifts.

The role requires hands-on welding and fabrication knowledge, strong scheduling, and clear communication across departments. Opportunities exist to mentor staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on welding and fabrication knowledge (SAW, MIG, TIG, etc.)
• Experience managing schedules, materials, and personnel in a production environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including cross-functional collaboration
• Proficiency with basic tools and reading fabrication drawings
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, lift 50 lbs, and climb ladders as needed
• Basic math and tape measure reading
• Basic computer skills (Excel, timekeeping systems)

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of welders, fitters, fabricators, painters, and helpers across day and night shifts
• Serve as main point of contact for production personnel and resolve issues
• Conduct mid-year and year-end performance evaluations
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation with HR
• Assist with translation and safety orientation training for new hires
• Track and submit weekly timesheets for direct hires and contractors
• Develop daily job priorities and ensure schedule adherence
• Coordinate with night shift supervisor for alignment of shift activities
• Schedule PWHT and delivery dates
• Provide labor hour estimates for vessel builds with Project Managers
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and improve efficiency
• Support process improvement projects with Industrial Engineer
• Refine SAW setups to optimize welding time and productivity
• Develop training programs to certify welders and cross-train staff
