Job summary

Bunge is seeking a Lead Production Supervisor in Destrehan, LA, to lead day-to-day Crush, Refinery, Milling or Packaging operations and support the Manager of Production Operations in boosting plant productivity.

The role requires a 7+ year track record in related industrial operations, a bachelor’s degree, and strong computer skills. It emphasizes safety, sanitation, and continuous improvement within a rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field, or equivalent progressive experience of 7+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, milling, oil packaging operations, or related.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed
• Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule required

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
• Oversee assigned department production shift activities (crush, refinery, milling, packaging, warehouse, boiler house, and/or elevator).
• Ensure assigned department is compliant with sanitation requirements; support sanitation inspections and corrective actions.
• Track and report shift productivity improvements.
• Approve daily reports and KPRs for the assigned department.
• Report and troubleshoot operations issues.
• Support Process Safety Management programs where applicable.
• Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of assigned shift.
• Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals.
• Support continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent.
• Monitor KPIs and help develop plans to align with Operations Excellence goals.
• Participate in daily production meetings to stay informed and aligned.
• Participate in new employee selection process and investigations as necessary.
