Job summary

Somic America Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor in Maine to directly supervise team leaders and oversee support and production staff.

The role requires planning, directing and training while ensuring performance appraisal, rewards and discipline in line with company policy. The ideal candidate will lead safety and 5S, reduce downtime, and foster continuous improvement through Kaizen implementation and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Kaizen teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to prepare presentations that conform to prescribed style and format.
• Ability to effectively present information to production and management teams.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises team leaders and indirectly oversees support and production team members.
• Plan, assign, and direct work and training; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees.
• Lead adherence to safety and 5S requirements; address complaints and resolve problems with area team leaders.
• Coach, mentor and counsel team leaders and team members regularly about team performance.
• Evaluate shift reports and pull together performance, downtime and performance charts.
